MC5 was an American rock band from Lincoln Park, Michigan, formed in 1964. According to AllMusic critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine, the MC5's leftist political ties and anti-establishment lyrics and music positioned them as emerging innovators of the punk movement in the United States. Their loud, energetic style of back-to-basics rock and roll included elements of garage rock, hard rock, blues rock, and psychedelic rock.

"The Best of the Alan Parsons Project" is a 1983 greatest hits compilation by the Alan Parsons Project. As well as featuring several previously released songs, it also contained a new song "You Don't Believe", which was included in the next APP album, "Ammonia Avenue". In 1986, it had become the first album of the group to be released in the Soviet Union, although the song "Psychobabble" was removed from it.

The album was the first released on the group's newly formed Threshold record label,which was named after the band's previous album from the same year, On the Threshold of a Dream.
While the extracted single, "Watching and Waiting," did not do well in that market, To Our Children's Children's Children was critically well-received and sold well, reaching number 2 in the UK albums chart and number 14 in the US.
The album was mixed and released in both stereo and quadraphonic. The album was one of those listened to, on cassette tape, by the crew of Apollo 15 in 1971.
