It is the first Dio album to feature former Rough Cutt keyboardist Claude Schnell. It became the band's highest-charting album in both the UK and the U.S., reaching number 4 and number 23, respectively (Sacred Heart would later reach number 4 in the UK as well).
It was certified gold (500,000 units sold) by the RIAA on September 12, 1984, and was the first Dio album to be certified platinum, achieving the feat on February 3, 1987. In the UK, it attained Silver certification (60,000 units sold) by the British Phonographic Industry, achieving this in January 1986, at the same time as Holy Diver. To date, these are the only two Dio albums to be certified at least platinum.

Released in 1984, Powerslave is Iron Maiden’s fifth studio release and vocalist Bruce Dickinson’s third outing with the band. While opinions will differ, Powerslave is arguably the strongest, early-80s, release for Maiden as The Number Of The Beast and Piece Of Mind both have exceptional songs but aren’t quite the cohesive album experience that Powerslave is. If nothing else, Powerslave is the embodiment of the heavy metal genre featuring intricate compositions and powerful performances that marked a high point in the band’s career, both in terms of their musical evolution and global popularity.
As is always the case with Iron Maiden, the album artwork is exquisite. Of course, with a keen interest in Ancient Egypt, I may be a little biased, but Powerslave doesn’t disappoint in that regard for it is as bold as the music contained within. However, when you get down to the sonic elements of Maiden’s records, while the production and overall mix are generally superb, the mastering of their albums, particularly the remastered releases, has been a point of contention amongst fans.

Christine Anne McVie was an English musician. She was the keyboardist and one of the vocalists and songwriters of the rock band Fleetwood Mac.
McVie was a member of several bands, notably Chicken Shack, in the mid-1960s British blues scene. She initially began working with Fleetwood Mac as a session player in 1968, before officially joining the band two years later. Her first compositions with Fleetwood Mac appeared on their fifth album, Future Games. She remained with the band through many changes of line-up, writing songs and performing lead vocals before partially retiring in 1998.
McVie was described as "the prime mover behind some of Fleetwood Mac's biggest hits" and eight songs she wrote or co-wrote, including "Say You Love Me", "Don't Stop", "Everywhere" and "Little Lies", appeared on Fleetwood Mac's 1988 Greatest Hits album. She appeared as a session musician on the band's last studio album, Say You Will. McVie also released three solo studio albums and recorded a duet album with Lindsey Buckingham. McVie was noted for her soulful contralto voice.
As a member of Fleetwood Mac, McVie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 1998 received the Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music. In the same year, after almost 30 years with Fleetwood Mac, she left the band and lived in semi-retirement, releasing a solo album in 2004. She appeared on stage with Fleetwood Mac at the O2 Arena in London in September 2013 and rejoined the band in 2014 prior to their On with the Show tour.
McVie died of a stroke in hospital on 30 November 2022, at the age of 79. She had also been suffering from metastatic cancer of unknown primary origin.
Following her death, Fleetwood Mac issued a statement saying that she was "the best musician anyone could have in their band and the best friend anyone could have in their life". Stevie Nicks said McVie had been her "best friend in the whole world".

Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply is a studio album by the British rock group Slade, released in America and Canada on 2 April 1984. It is a repackaged version of The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome which was released in the UK, Europe and across the rest of the world in December 1983. Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply reached No. 33 in the US and No. 26 in Canada, giving the band their breakthrough in the US. The album proved to be the most successful North American release of Slade's career. Both "Run Runaway" and "My Oh My" enjoyed Top 40 success as singles there. In August 1984, the album was certified Gold in Canada for 50,000 sales.
The 1983 success of Quiet Riot's version of Slade's 1973 UK chart topper "Cum On Feel the Noize" led to Slade signing with CBS for their first American record deal since the 1970s. The label soon repackaged the band's recently released album, The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome, into Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply. The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome, along with its singles "My Oh My" and "Run Runaway", had already achieved success in the UK and Europe. Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply featured a different track-order. It also replaced "Cocky Rock Boys (Rule O.K.)" and "Razzle Dazzle Man" with the 1983 "My Oh My" B-Sides "Keep Your Hands Off My Power Supply" and "Can't Tame a Hurricane".
