Mad Dog - Dawn of the Seventh Sun CD. CD reissue of this unreleased album of West Coast psych recordings from 1969. Monstrous & unreleased at the time heavy/psychedelic/West Coast artifact of the highest order. This is one of the five best-ever promo-only releases to emerge from California. Only released in a quantity of a couple of copies to get a major record deal that never materialized. Three of the songs were used in a low-budget biker flick called Black Angels. The original demo LP had only a plain black label with no kinds of credits. The original producer told us that a demo-only LP was released by The Zoo after the Chocolate Moose album. The slightly different line-up had the name Joyful Noise (you can see a scan of the acetate in Hans Pokora's 4001 Record Collector's Dreams) but at this time they were looking for a tougher name to fit to the music and they found Mad Dog. Under this name a couple of test pressings were done. So we made a re-release deal straight away. To our surprise the guy told us, after hearing the tape, that he knew the music and that it had already been re-released by another label without any kinds of info using the numbers from the dead end part of the vinyl which was C1/C2! The C was for Cavett, the producer's name. Since the project was already paid, we decided to go on with the release to please collectors with an amazing remastering straight from the master tapes, and an insert with unseen pictures and a band bio written by Morgan Cavett.

Sir Lord Baltimore was an American rock and early heavy metal band from Brooklyn, New York City, that was formed in 1968 and consisted of lead vocalist and drummer John Garner, guitarist Louis Dambra, and bassist Gary Justin. In a 1971 review of their debut record, Kingdom Come, Creem magazine as containing the first documented use of the term "heavy metal" to refer to a style of music. AllMusic described them as "arguably America's first bona fide heavy metal band". Sir Lord Baltimore featured a drumming lead singer, traditionally a rarity in rock and metal music.
In 2006, Garner and Dambra reunited as Sir Lord Baltimore and released a new album, Sir Lord Baltimore III Raw. The reformed band featured an overt Christian focus and lyrics, an emphasis not found in their earlier work. Justin, no longer an active musician, did not participate. Garner died on December 5, 2015, of liver failure, ending the band.
"Kingdom Come" was one of the earliest heavy metal albums and is considered an important influence on the genre. All of the songs on Kingdom Come were co-written and arranged by Mike Appel, who would later become Bruce Springsteen's manager. Co-produced by Appel and Jim Cretecos, the album was recorded at Vantone Studios in New Jersey before being mixed by Eddie Kramer and Kim King at Electric Lady Studios in New York. Kramer is well known for his work with Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie and Curtis Mayfield.

Who can forget "Wild Thing" The Troggs have always been remembered for this 60s anthem, but it is just one of their many UK hits. "With A Girl Like You", "I Can't Control Myself", "Anyway That You Want Me", "Give It To Me" and "Love Is All Around". They all followed in rapid succession to give The Troggs world-wide acclaim. Dubbed by many as the "first British punk band" they have continued playing in their own uncompromising style of good basic rock music.
Never strangers to controversy, many of their records were considered by the "powers that be" too suggestive for the masses, and they consequently banned them. How anybody could judge Reg Presley's tongue-in-cheek delivery to be dangerous to the morals of the young is hard to believe.
Their popularity has never waned and they are still in great demand both in the UK and the rest of Europe, where they regularly headline festivals attracting thousands of fans. Their appeal hold no age barriers, fans ranging from the stalwarts who have supported them throughout the years to the many new fans from the younger generation. The Troggs and "Wild Thing" have been used in many advertising campaigns in recent years. For instance "The Rowntrees Lion Bar" in the UK, coffee in Scandinavia, Mexican relish in the USA and Canada and insurance in Europe. "Anyway That You Want Me" was re-recorded for a Yoplait Fruit Royale commercial, and in Germany there was a re-release of "With A Girl Like You" to coincide with a televised promotion for the milk and friut juice packaging company Tetrapak. A CD which also included "Wild Thing" and "I Can't Control Myself" was issued to publicise the product. Now, in the 2000's, The Troggs are very much a "cult" band.

Orianthi Penny Panagaris (born 22 January 1985), known mononymously as Orianthi, is an Australian guitarist, singer and songwriter. Her 2009 debut single "According to You" peaked at No. 3 in Japan, No. 8 in Australia and No. 17 in the US; her second album, Believe, received a worldwide release in late 2009. The same year, she was named one of the "12 Greatest Female Electric Guitarists" by Elle magazine. She also won the "2010 Breakthrough Guitarist of the Year" award hosted by Guitar International magazine.
Orianthi started working on her major label debut Believe in 2007, which was released in October 2009. The album produced the worldwide hit "According to You", which was the Single of the Week on iTunes on 27 October 2009, reached number 2 on US radio airplay and charted to number eight in Australia, three in Japan, and achieved platinum status in the US and Australia. The charismatic rock instrumental "Highly Strung" featuring Steve Vai became a popular YouTube video with millions of views and climbing, and her song "Suffocated" was featured on Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock as a playable song.
Orianthi appeared on several late-night shows; most notably, she appeared on American Idol results show, which aired on 26 March 2010. In 2010, she toured extensively, with headlining shows in the US, Japan, Australia, and Malaysia. She also opened for other artists including John Mayer, Mika, Kid Rock, Daughtry and over 30 dates for Adam Lambert's Glam Nation Tour with former Idol contestant Allison Iraheta. Orianthi performed at various music festivals and charity functions most notably at the Stand Up to Cancer telethon.

Arthur Lee seems so embedded in the 1960s that it's hard to imagine him existing outside that decade. Strongly influenced by the baroque folk-pop of the Byrds, his smart, steely psychedelia conveyed a dark vision of hippie America-- a distinct contrast to the good vibrations typically associated with the Summer of Love. That was the same year-- 1967, for those of you who don't read Rolling Stone (which I think might be everybody)-- that Lee and his band Love released its scene-paranoid masterpiece Forever Changes, on which he painted himself as a true L.A. outsider, haunting the scrub-brush hills and looking deep into the dark heart of the city around him. In those songs, he foretells his own doom, and everyone else's: On "The Red Telephone", he sings, "Sitting on the hillside/ Watching all the people die/ I'll feel much better on the other side."
On these two albums (Out Here and False Start), Lee repeatedly refers to other artists and other songs, which doesn't anchor him to the mainstream culture but reiterates his underground detachment. This constant dissociation heightens the lively tension on the live disc, which was recorded at various stops on the band's 1970 tour of England. Like the studio version that closes Out Here, "Gather 'Round" appropriates the melody from Dylan's "The Times They Are A'Changin'", not out of laziness but as a pointed commentary on the death of that generation's idealism. Lee thrives on complication and contradiction: As either a supremely cynical or a playful gesture, he turns the song into an impromptu cover of Wilson Pickett's "Funky Broadway". Similarly, he performs songs from every Love album (including a particularly caustic "Bummer in the Summer" from Forever Changes) as a means of acknowledging his past glories as well as his fraught history. Live, this version of Love sounds like a band mustering the conviction to take on the world one more time. But they never did: Lee disbanded the line-up shortly after the tour. Love would barely see the 70s, except as a series of failed reunions.

Love is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1965. Led by Arthur Lee, the band's primary songwriter, they were one of the first racially diverse American rock bands. Their sound incorporated an eclectic range of styles including garage, folk rock, and psychedelia. While finding only modest success on the music charts, peaking in 1966 with their US No. 33 hit "7 and 7 Is," Love would come to be praised by critics as their third album, Forever Changes (1967), became generally regarded as one of the best albums of the 1960s.
The band's classic lineup is considered to consist of Lee, the guitarist and singer Bryan MacLean, the bassist Ken Forssi, the guitarist Johnny Echols and the drummer Donnie Conca, who was replaced by Alban "Snoopy" Pfisterer. By 1968, only Lee remained and he continued recording as Love with varied members through the 1970s. MacLean and Forssi died in 1998. Lee died in 2006. Forever Changes was added to the Library of Congress's National Recording Registry in 2011. In recent years, original member Johnny Echols has toured under the title of the Love Band or Love Revisited.
