Ice - Opus 1 (1980)

Year: 1980 (CD 1998)
Label: Garden Of Delights (Germany), CD 002
Style: Progressive Rock
Country: Germany
Time: 46:01
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 262 Mb

Originally released in 1980, as this was the obscure German progressive band's sole lp. Initially, 'Opus 1' was sold in a very small quantity. Tunes on this CD reissue that are decent / okay include the somewhat-rocking opener "Bad News For The Dolphin", "Happy And Free", "Wintertime", "The Big Sleep" and the laid-back / well-played "Choires Of Bright Beauties". Line-up: Hubert Benz - bass & vocals, Heinz Gerber - guitar & vocals and Alexander Russ - drums. Might appeal to fans of (don't me to it, I'm second guessing) Sundome And The Night and Grave (who also has titles out on the Garden Of Delights label).

Privately released obscure German underground hard rock with incondite sound productions but guitar leads are outstanding, and has certain passion in their music. I know some people don’t dig it, but I rate it highly. Because, I like lo-fi unpolished hard rock. Also, love those English vocals with German accent.
