Linn County was an American blues-based band based in Iowa, and later in San Francisco, California. Linn County released three albums from 1968 to 1970. Over the course of their existence, they had seven band members.

Kaipa - Kaipa (1975)

Year: Recorded: February, July 1975 (CD 1993)
Label: Musea Records (France), FGBG 4091.AR
Style: Progressive Rock, Symphonic Rock
Country: Sweden
Time: 48:09
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 265 Mb

In the summer of 1974 the group shortened the name and became simply KAIPA. The music and lyrics were essentially the responsibility of Hans Lundin, who also doubled lead vocals, with Tomas and Ingemar singing backing vocals. In spite of his major role as composer and lyricist, Hans didn’t act as Kaipa’s front man. The group always acted as a collective, with considerable freedom allotted to each member. Kaipa’s early songs were based on a non-traditional song structure: after an intro of folk or classical flavour, the song generally developed a jazzier orientation, before ending with a solemn symphonic conclusion, restoring the classical element.
Kaipa’s first live appearance was as a trio. It occurred at an open-air festival in Norrtalje in June 1974. In August the trio formally asked Roine to join as full-time member. They were now certain of his ability to develop a personal style to suit the group’s evolution. The new line-up debuted in an open-air festival at “Gardet” in Stockholm that same month. The group performed well and received a rapturous audience response. The band eschewed stage histrionics, preferring to rely on the quality of their music. They sometimes included circus music and humorous rock’n’roll pastiches in their repertoire and were also fond of lengthy improvisations.
On 21 October 1974 Kaipa performed its first radio broadcast, playing live in the programme “Tonkraft” on Swedish national radio, a show devoted entirely to the national and international progressive rock scene. Under these stressful circumstances, the band’s showing was somewhat nervous and lacklustre, but this first broadcast proved a great opportunity to emerge from their relative isolation and get some national recognition.
Kaipa kept rehearsing busily to improve their cohesion and instrumental technique. Roine Stolt started contributing tunes and the entire group polished up some lengthy pieces of ten-minutes-plus duration.
Anxious to record their efforts and obtain wider recognition, the band decided to contact record companies. To that end, they sent a demo tape to the MNW and Silence labels, which reacted negatively, and then to their old friend Leif Mases, who now worked at Marcus Music Studios. Leif played the tape to Markus Osterdahl, the studio’s owner. He liked it very much and immediately offered the group the chance to record a professional demo on to 24 tracks. The numbers “Pa Fard”, “Karavan”, “Fran det ena till det andra”  and ”Skogspromenad” were recorded on 3, 5, and 6 February 1975, and the last track was later included on the band’s debut album.
Marcus knew Carl-Eric Hjelm from the Electra label, a Swedish company who distributed Decca, RCA and Philips nationally, and played him the tape. Charmed by the music, Hjelm told the band to record him an album, preferring to await the results before signing them officially. Eventually, Decca would sign Kaipa and issue their debut album.

Style: Progressive Rock, New Prog
Country: Bournemouth, Dorset, England
Time: 58:41
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 372 Mb

TDM is a concept album exploring chaos theory, communication, failure, death, loss, and bereavement. The story is of the death of an individual, which was linked to an exploding star in a distant galaxy. There are more influences of Van der Graaf Generator, Genesis, Mew, Sigur Ros and King Crimson throughout the album.
Big Big Train are an English progressive rock band formed in Bournemouth in 1990. The current line-up includes band founder Gregory Spawton (bass, guitars and keyboards), along with Nick D'Virgilio (drums, guitars and keyboards) and Rikard Sjoblom (guitars and keyboards). Until 2009, the band were active as a predominantly studio project led by Spawton and co-founder Andy Poole (guitars, bass and keyboards), who departed the band in 2018, with changing line-ups and guest musicians. They have released fourteen studio albums and six EPs.
After starting out as an independent band, Big Big Train were signed to Giant Electric Pea from 1993 to 1998 and distributed their releases through their own website. Since their sixth album, The Underfall Yard, which received critical acclaim from the progressive rock community, a more stable line-up has been established, and the band performed their first live concerts in 17 years at Kings Place, London, in August 2015. The gigs were voted Event of the Year by the readers of Prog magazine. Stone & Steel, a Blu-ray featuring the 2014 rehearsals at Real World Studios and four of the songs performed at Kings Place, was released on 21 March 2016. Big Big Train were the winners of the Breakthrough Award at the Progressive Music Awards held at Kew Gardens, London on 3 September 2013, and have been nominated in several other categories in recent years. The band's latest studio album, Welcome to the Planet, was released in January 2022. Their previous studio album, Common Ground, was released in July 2021.
Big Big Train embarked on their first UK tour in October 2019. Scheduled dates for the band's first ever North American and European tours in 2020 were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Lead vocalist David Longdon died on 20 November 2021, aged 56.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Endangered Species (1994)

Year: August 9, 1994 (CD ????)
Label: Volcano Records (Europe), 82876 55128 2
Style: Southern Rock, Blues Rock
Country: Jacksonville, Florida, U.S.
Time: 47:42
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 296 Mb

Endangered Species is the eighth album by American Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was released in 1994 and features mostly acoustic instrumentation, as well as Ronnie Van Zant's younger brother, Johnny, as lead vocalist. Many of the songs are Lynyrd Skynyrd's best known songs, with new material released alongside. This is the last album to feature guitarist Ed King and the only one to feature guitarist Mike Estes.
(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endangered_Species_(Lynyrd_Skynyrd_album))

It’ll be 17 years this month since Lynyrd Skynyrd’s chartered plane went down in the Mississippi woods, killing—among others—vocalist Ronnie Van Zant and guitarist Steve Gaines. Ten years after the crash, the group’s survivors decided to honour the music of the lost rockers and revive the Skynyrd name by bringing in Van Zant’s youngest brother, Johnny, to take his place on a tribute tour.
Critics of the move decried it as a blatant attempt to cash in on the band’s previous commercial success, but the real Skynyrd fans were just happy that there was someone alive that looked, talked, and sang like Ronnie Van Zant and could rightfully help the band carry on its southern-rock tradition. And although none of the Skynyrd albums released since Johnny Van Zant’s enlistment come close to matching the excellence of ’70s discs like Second Helping and Street Survivors, the spirit of the band is still kickin’, and that’s the main thing.
In 1994, the Lynyrd Skynyrd lineup still includes original guitarists Gary Rossington and Ed King, who cowrote many of the band’s best-known tunes with lyricist RVZ. Of those, “Saturday Night Special”, “I Ain’t the One”, “Poison Whiskey”, and the deathless “Sweet Home Alabama” are included in the 13-track Endangered Species, an all-acoustic, live-sounding romp that encompasses some of the band’s earliest and most recent musical endeavours.
My only real complaint about Endangered Species is its unnecessary inclusion of the mouldy Elvis chestnut “Heartbreak Hotel”. Thankfully, the band does not attempt an unplugged version of its fiery tribute to Duane Allman, “Free Bird”, because an acoustic rendition of that tune’s wailing guitar freakout would be downright silly, not to mention painful.

Badfinger - Badfinger [Japan Edition] (1974)

Year: February 1974 (CD Jul 25, 1991)
Label: Warner Bros. Records (Japan), WPCP-4081
Style: Rock, Power Pop
Country: Swansea, Wales
Time: 40:06
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 231 Mb

The cover art for the album shows a woman wearing a riding outfit and hat from the 1920s and smoking a cigarette in a cigarette holder.
Originally planned for release on 28 December 1973, the album was delayed due to Ass being issued that month. Although the album is technically untitled, it is referred to as Badfinger as this is its only identification outside its matrix number. The intended title, For Love or Money, was rejected by the label at the time of production and was never used. The intended title referred to Badfinger's label change from Apple to Warner Bros.
On release, Badfinger received an unfavourable review in Rolling Stone magazine. A British single released after the album, "Love Is Easy", failed to chart. A subsequent single issued in the US, "I Miss You", also failed.
In the United States, the album peaked at number 161 on Billboard's Top 200 LPs & Tape listings, making it Badfinger's lowest-charting album there. Part of the reason for the poor commercial performance was that, due to litigation with Apple, this album and Ass came out within months of each other; in fact, in the UK, Badfinger actually preceded Ass.
The album was re-released on CD format in the 1990s in Japan and Germany only. The album was eventually issued on CD in the United States in 2007. Many tracks from this album have subsequently been released on various Badfinger compilation records and CDs.
The album cover was designed by John Kosh.

Mary Hopkin - Post Card (1969)

Year: 21 February 1969 (CD 2010)
Label: Apple Records (Europe), 5099990580925
Style: Pop, Folk Rock
Country: Pontardawe, Wales, UK (3 May 1950)
Time: 59:11
Format: Flac Tracks 16/44,1 kHz
Size: 336 Mb

Hopkin was born into a Welsh-speaking family in Pontardawe, Wales; her father worked as a housing officer. She took weekly singing lessons as a child and began her musical career as a folk singer with a local group called the Selby Set and Mary. She released an EP of Welsh-language songs for a local record label called Cambrian, based in her hometown, before signing to Apple Records, owned by the Beatles, one of the first artists to do so. The model Twiggy saw her winning the ITV television talent show Opportunity Knocks and recommended her to Paul McCartney.
Her debut single, "Those Were the Days", produced by McCartney, was released in the UK on 30 August 1968. Despite competition from well-established star Sandie Shaw, whose own single version of the song was also released that year, Hopkin's version became a number 1 hit on the UK Singles Chart. It reached number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, where for three weeks it was held out of the top spot by the Beatles' "Hey Jude", and spent two weeks at number 1 on Canada's RPM singles chart. It sold over 1,500,000 copies in the United States alone, and was awarded a gold disc by the RIAA. Global sales topped 8,000,000.
On 2 October 1968, Hopkin appeared at St Paul's Cathedral in London for the Pop Experience, where she sang "Morning of My Life", "Turn Turn Turn" and "Plaisir d'amour". In December that year, the NME music magazine reported that Hopkin was considering a lead acting role in Stanley Baker's planned film Rape of the Fair Country, which was to be based on Alexander Cordell's book of the same name. That particular project did not materialise but Hopkin did sing the title songs to two of Baker's films, Where's Jack? and Kidnapped.
On 21 February 1969, Hopkin's debut album, Post Card, again produced by McCartney, was released. It included covers of three songs from Donovan, who also played on the album, and one song each from George Martin and Harry Nilsson. It reached number 3 on the UK Albums Chart, although it proved to be her solitary success in that chart. In the United States, Post Card reached number 28 on the Billboard albums chart.
The next single was "Goodbye", written by McCartney (credited to Lennon–McCartney), and released on 26 March 1969. It reached number 2 on the UK Singles Chart, number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100[10] and number 15 on the RPM chart in Canada. Hopkin said she interpreted "Goodbye" as McCartney pledging to stop "micromanaging" her career, since she was uncomfortable with his positioning of her as a pop chanteuse. She also expressed dissatisfaction with her manager at this time, Terry Doran.
Hopkin's third single, "Temma Harbour", was a re-arrangement of a Philamore Lincoln song. Her first single not to be produced by McCartney, it was released on 16 January 1970 and peaked at number 6 in the UK and number 42 in Canada. In the US, "Temma Harbour" reached number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 4 on the magazine's Easy Listening chart. Along with Donovan and Billy Preston, Hopkin was one of the chorus singers on the Radha Krishna Temple's 1970 hit single "Govinda", produced by George Harrison for Apple Records.
